Meet the Mardon: volunteer conservation training day

  • Vesper Meadow Restoration and Educational Services LLC 16534 Dead Indian Memorial Rd Ashland United States (map)

Enjoy montane meadows and support an imperiled species.

Eye to eye with the Klamath Mardon Skipper

Interested in spending time in the meadows of the Cascade-Siskiyou and making a positive impact for an imperiled species? The Klamath Mardon Skipper is one of the most imperiled local butterflies in the Cascade-Siskiyou. They are depended on healthy native meadow habitats and only are flying as adult butterflies for 2-4 weeks during late May/ early June.

We’re welcoming folks to meet the Mardon skipper and encouraging them to join the volunteer conservation crew to monitor and protect their habitat.

Join this volunteer kick-off event

This event will prepare you to serve as meadow monitoring volunteer on a monthly basis June - September/ October. Field biology backgrounds are helpful, but no experience is necessary. We’ll learn how to identify and survey for the Mardon skipper, monitor the meadow habitats that they depend on, and enjoy beautiful spring flowers in the process…

Can’t make this event?
