Planting for the Future

  • Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve 16534 Indian Memorial Rd Ashland United States (map)

All are welcome to join in this collaboration with Cultivate Oregon, supported by Jackson Co. Soil and Water District. We will discuss practical and organic ways to rid unwanted weeds, improve soils, and prepare ground for native plant seeding. You will get to tour our established meadow restoration plots and get to participate in the preparation of seeding areas + native plant seeding. This is one of our favorite acts of restoration, and it is a truly beautiful time of year to be at the meadow.

We are partnering with Rhianna Simes of Verdant Phoenix Farms and Cultivate Oregon. Jeanine of Vesper Meadow will lead a tour through the existing pollinator gardens and share thoughts for growing native plants species at home.

We will be preparing native first food and pollinator planting areas by removing landscape tarps, spreading and raking in seeds. Low to moderate impact, bending over, lifting 5-10 lbs and walking on uneven ground.

No experience necessary, bring your work gloves (and we’ll have extras on-hand) and we’ll provide drinks and snacks!

Space is limited for this free event. Please RSVP for week-of updates and more information:
