Walk, Weed, and Seed: for Mardon Skippers

  • Vesper Meadow Restoration and Educational Services LLC 16534 Dead Indian Memorial Rd Ashland United States (map)

Walk, Weed, and Seed events is back for a third year! Join us for another plant-stewardship walk, enjoying the intersection of recreation and restoration. We will collect seeds that will be used to replace non-native grasses at the Meadow with native grasses and forbs. These restored areas serve both pollinators and our efforts in partnership with the Indigenous Gardens Network, a Tribally-led partnership. These areas also serve as demonstration plots for educational events with youth and adult land stewards.

For this event, we will be collecting a variety of grass and flower seeds that are important for the endangered, Mardon skipper habitat. We wiill provide information on species identification, pollinators, restoration strategies, and perspectives on conservation land management.

Please RSVP/register for this event for meet-up location, details, what to bring, etc. This event welcomes all free of charge, and donations will be welcomed.
