Walk, Weed, and Seed

It’s a stewardship-recreation walk!

Join the crew at the scenic Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve, next to the Howard Prairie Reservoir. Your efforts are needed to support the vision of a community-powered creek and meadow restoration project. We'll be working on restoring the native plant community for pollinator and wildlife habitat, and for youth education programs. We'll work while we walk, collecting native plant seed and pulling invasive weed species. Program Director Jeanine Moy will provide tips on native plant and butterfly identification, invasive weed pulling techniques, and interesting anecdotes about the natural history of the Vesper Meadow site. Wear long pants, sun protection, and close-toed shoes. Bring a small day pack with water and snacks, trowels and weeding tools are welcome but otherwise provided. We'll thank all volunteers with some cool REI shwag.
