Native Plants, So What? - three quick talks via Facebook Live and Youtube

Gearing up for spring, this three-part presentation about the significance of native plants and people who tend them: for culture, for pollinators, and for restoring our landscape. and importance to restoring landscapes now and in the future. Brian Geier, Native Plant Program Specialist at Vesper Meadow, will give cultural perspectives on tending and harvesting wild plants and share the new Native Food Plant Programming launching this summer. Jeanine Moy, Program Director of the Vesper Meadow Education Program will discuss the contemporary relevance of native plants for local pollinator diversity - sharing some results from the new community-powered science program Cascade-Siskiyou Butterfly Monitoring Network.

Kathryn Prive, Partnership Coordinator for the Rogue Native Plant Partnership will highlight the growing movement of native plant growers, NGO's, biologists, and agencies in southwest Oregon working together for a holistic approach to restoration. She will provide interesting and useful information about native flower and shrub species grown locally and how to incorporate them in to your garden and home stewardship projects.
