a collaboration with the Public Lands Store (Medford) at the Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve
BEAT THE HEAT AND STAY COOL IN THE CREEK WITH US!
Join us to ‘behave like beavers’ and help restore Latgawa Creek at the scenic Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve. You will enjoy walking in the meadow and the creek, and learn restoration skills. We’re continuing to work on our big riparian restoration project along Latgawa Creek, and we are excited to share more about the Low Tech Process-Based Restoration strategies we will be implementing with The Beaver Coalition.
More on this trending beaver-style restoration framework:
These structures are made with small woody debris, removing invasive plants, willow staking, and planting native shrubs. We’ll be working together, learning about Low-tech Process-Based Restoration strategies, and enjoying working in the creek. This work requires walking in the meadow on uneven surfaces, bending, carrying 5-25 pounds (moderate - heavy effort).
If you like getting your hands dirty, or just want to give back to your watershed, you are going to have a lot of fun!
We’ll supply drinks, tools, and good cheer. All volutneers will receive a gift bag from the Public Lands Store!
Bring work gloves, lunch, water bottle, and garden loppers and a shovel if you have them.
