Vespers at Vesper: a community science walk

  • Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve 16534 Indian Memorial Rd Ashland United States (map)

Join Vesper Meadow and Klamath Bird Observatory board member Stacy Tauber and Vesper Meadow Program Director Jeanine Moy to witness and support research efforts for the imperiled Oregon Vesper Sparrow at the Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve. Estimated to be down to 2,000-3,000 individuals, and declining by 5% per year, it is one of North America's most imperiled birds.

This community volunteers will allow new and seasoned birdwatchers alike to participate in monitoring this species. No experience necessary. We will meet at 8am at Vesper Meadow, coffee provided, and break in small groups to look for Vesper Sparrows and record data. Bring water, snacks, long pants and close-toed shoes, sun protection, and binoculars.
