Hike and Steward w/ Vesper Meadow and the Friends of the CSNM

  • Vesper Meadow Restoration and Educational Services LLC 16534 Dead Indian Memorial Rd Ashland United States (map)

Join us for a hike across boundaries; beginning in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, we will observe BLM riparian restoration efforts from the past decade along a tributary to Latgawa Creek. Crossing over into the adjacent private Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve, hike participants will witness the public-private matrix of land that is characteristic of the region. We'll enjoy scenic vistas, observe native plant seeds, and the diverse habitats consisting of upland wet meadow, mixed-conifer forest, and shrub-steppe hillsides. Participants will have an opportunity to act as stewards and join in riparian restoration efforts by planting native shrubs and living willow stakes by the creek.

This hike is in collaboration with our partners, the Friends of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument is a nonprofit organization and our mission is to support the protection, restoration and conservation of the monument through service, advocacy and education.

Please RSVP on their Eventbrite page.
