Call for Crowd Sourcing: Support the Upcoming 2026 Camas Camp!

Support Indigenous Cultural Connection in Southern Oregon

Camas Camp is a deeply meaningful event for both the healing of the land and its Indigenous people, and hosted at Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve during one of the most magical times of year: during the height of meadow Camas bloom!

The bulb of the Camas lily is a staple food for many Northwest tribes and is central to the event, representing a connection to the land and ancestral practices.

"Camas Camp" is an event for members of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians and the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, organized by the Indigenous Gardens Network (IGN). The event focuses on connecting tribal families with their ancestral homeland and traditional First Foods, specifically the camas plant. Activities include learning traditional practices, replanting camas, sharing food, and strengthening community bonds. (Read one report from 2023 Camas Camp in the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde newsletter). Camas Camp is provided for tribal members by tribal members, and hosted at Vesper Meadow Restoration Preserve.

We are working together with the Indigenous Gardens Network to fundraise for this event - we are currently 30% toward our goal of $30K!
